- The XDefiant preload date is set for May 16, 2024.
- Preloading the game before the official launch will save you time on release, letting you jump right into the game.
Ubisoft has confirmed the XDefiant preload date, letting people download the game early ahead of its full release in May. This free-to-play, first-person arena shooter sees you compete to be the best in online matches against others, and now we know the full schedule for the game as we approach the launch. Let’s look at the XDefiant preload and when we can start playing.
XDefiant preload date
The XDefiant pre-load will go live on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Preload for XDefiant will go live across PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation platforms at the same time. This preload date was confirmed on Twitter by the official XDefiant account, which also shared a short roadmap for what we can expect in the week approaching the launch.
As of May 16, there will be a new launch trailer airing which will coincide with the beginning of preload. On May 20, another new trailer will show off the Battle Pass, leading us to May 21, when the game’s servers will go online and launch into its preseason official release date.
It is important to bear in mind that preloading XDefiant doesn’t mean you can play the game early. This preload only exists to save the time you would spend downloading the game on release day by getting it downloaded early. As it stands, there is no way to play XDefiant early and Ubisoft is not offering any early access window, and this is probably because of the game’s free-to-play status.
There is no word yet on how big the preload download size is, but we will know by May 16 when the preload goes live. With the XDefiant release date set for May 21, we don’t have long to wait before we can start playing. Those who plan to play on a PC will need to make sure they use Ubisoft Connect, which will require setting up an account.
