2K has shared a series of new teasers for WWE 2K26, which currently has a leaked release date of March 13. These teasers form an ensemble of items that provide hints about what’s actually included in the game. While nothing has been explicitly confirmed yet, the teasers strongly point to exciting leaks, while also suggesting the return of AJ Lee to the WWE 2K26 roster, the debut of AAA’s Mr. Iguana, and much more.

Starting with the leaks, one of the most exciting is the inclusion of four new match types: I Quit, Inferno, Three Stages of Hell, and Dumpster matches. A “3 Stages of Hell” poster in the teaser spells out its return, while an image of a red gasoline canister next to a fire extinguisher seemingly alludes to Inferno matches, where the ring is surrounded by fire, and you win by setting your opponent ablaze.

Also on the table is a WWE microphone, which could represent I Quit matches, where the referee shoves a microphone into each competitor’s face until one of them loses by saying “I quit”. You can also see a miniature dumpster on the table, potentially representing Dumpster matches, where you win by throwing your opponent inside a dumpster.

As for other leaks, CM Punk is rumored to be the star of Showcase mode, a chronological compilation of playable matches, interspersed with archival footage and interviews. According to the rumor, the CM Punk Showcase will be split into three sections: Punk’s favorite matches, fantasy matches, and “What If?” scenarios based on an alternate timeline where he never left WWE in 2014 prior to his return in 2023.

Regarding Showcase mode, there’s a small tombstone featuring the logo for WrestleMania 29, possibly hinting at CM Punk vs. The Undertaker. There’s also a VHS tape labeled Punk vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns, which was the main event of WrestleMania 41 Night 1 and could be included in the Showcase mode.

As for fantasy matches, a poster of Stone Cold Steve Austin could signify a CM Punk vs. Stone Cold matchup, which was teased in real life during the promotion of WWE ’13. There’s also a poster of Shawn Michaels, possibly hinting at CM Punk vs. Shawn Michaels from the Attitude Era.

WWE 2K26 teasers hint at roster additions

Beyond match types and potential Showcase bouts, the WWE 2K26 teasers also allude to new roster additions. One of the most notable items in the ensemble is a mirror, which likely represents the mirror used by Blake Monroe during her entrance. The addition of Blake Monroe and other new NXT talent has already been hinted at, so her debut wouldn’t be surprising.

There’s also an image of an iguana, which presumably represents the debut of Mr. Iguana from the Mexican lucha libre promotion AAA. WWE became the parent company of AAA in early 2025, and Mr. Iguana has already joined the 2K mobile game WWE SuperCard alongside El Hijo del Vikingo. Assuming Mr. Iguana joins WWE 2K26, it will probably be as part of a DLC pack featuring AAA talent.

The only other roster addition seemingly teased is AJ Lee. This comes from a video player displaying the words “Light It Up,” a clear reference to the lyrics from AJ Lee’s theme song. She hasn’t appeared in a WWE game since WWE 2K15, but she returned after signing a part-time contract in 2025.

Other items allude to thumbtacks making their 2K debut as a weapon. Stone Cold Steve Austin beer cans could also be a weapon, as well as a shopping cart seen on the table. There is also the current male and female Intercontinental Championship, but their significance is hard to predict.

With the emphasis on the Attitude Era and the possible return of Inferno and I Quit matches, WWE 2K26 strongly evokes the feel of WWE ’13. You will be able to pre-order WWE 2K26 starting January 30, and it will be interesting to see what pre-order bonuses differentiate the King of Kings Triple H Edition, the Attitude Era Edition, and the Monday Night War Edition.
