Wuthering Waves is the new big gacha game on the market following in the footsteps of Genshin Impact. Hoyoverse has dominated the scene for years, but WuWa has quickly gained a huge fanbase and following of its own. Kuro Games are looking to improve the experience, and a leak suggests Wuthering Waves could be getting a big upgrade Genshin Impact fans have wanted “for years”.

There is a lot to be excited about with the near future of Wuthering Waves. A massive announcement suggests a release for PlayStation is finally happening, and leaks have shown “beautiful” animations for the upcoming 1.2 banner characters, Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao. Before these two arrive, you can check out the remaining banner schedule for update 1.1.

Seeing as Genshin Impact is arguably the most famous game within the gacha genre, it’s only natural that many comparisons are made between it and WuWa. If a recent leak is true, Kuro Games could be set to provide the co-op rework Genshin Impact fans have wanted from Hoyoverse.

Wuthering Waves leak suggests upcoming co-op rework

Per Razor_Language, a prominent Twitter feed for leaks and rumors pertaining to Wuthering Waves, Kuro Games might be developing a co-op rework. The leak stems from Mero, and it implies “WuWa might get some co-op activity or co-op rework”.

According to the leak that should be taken with a grain of salt, “The difference from the current co-op will be that all players will have separate teams, and they will be able to use all 3 characters in their team”.

Assuming this comes to fruition, this is massive news, although there is no ETA for when it could happen. Reacting to the potential co-op rework on Reddit, fans have expressed massive excitement.

While expressing excitement for this possibility, there are comparisons made between it and the current state of co-op in Genshin Impact. One of the comments says, “Woah I was actually asking for coop to work like that in Genshin for years. If this is true then coop would be much more fun since you can play your full team with your friends”.

Another comment says, “I wrote about this in Genshin survey for years… and hoyo don’t care. Co-op still as useless and pointless as when game start. Meanwhile WuWa implement this less than 3 months after launch”. To this, one user replied, “The beauty of competition. If wuwa manages to do the many things players are asking for then genshin will just have to do better”.

There is plenty of excitement for this potential co-op rework, but fans are pointing out that, if true, Kuro “would also need to rebalance enemies for that to not be absolutely broken”. There are also comments saying, “That’s a good step, but… I’d like to see an illusive realm style dungeon or raid bosses, something fun besides echo/mats farming”.

Again, this is just a leak rather than anything official. It would be great if true, but nothing is guaranteed as of writing.
