Wuthering Waves has only just recently fully come out for mobile and PC, and it has quickly become a popular property within the gacha genre. It isn’t as big as Genshin Impact yet, but that could change relatively soon. Fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival on PS4 and PS5, and a massive PlayStation announcement has Wuthering Waves fans believing “Finally it’s happening”.
Kuro has announced that Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao are set to come out as banners for update 1.2. The expected release date for Zhezhi is in August, and leaks have shown unseen “beautiful” animations for both Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao. If you are hopping aboard the game’s bandwagon for the very first time, we have a guide explaining how crossplay and cross progression works.
Right now Wuthering Waves is merely on PC and mobile. Kuro has previously committed to release for PS4 and PS5, and fans should expect an update very soon thanks to a massive PlayStation announcement.
Wuthering Waves PlayStation announcement
A recent leak suggested a Wuthering Waves PS5 release is happening soon. This leak originated from PlayStation icons referencing PS4 and PS5 found within the game’s files by dataminers.
Away from leaks, Kuro has officially specified that the game is coming to PlayStation consoles. Per PushSquare, Kuro said at the Unreal Fest convention in Shanghai earlier this year that a PS5 build is being developed and that it will be on par with the PC version running at Ultra graphics.

Reacting to the announcement on Reddit, fans are naturally pumped. In the Reddit replies, there are numerous replies echoing the sentiment, “Finally it’s happening” and “Thank God”. Although nothing is official, fans are anticipating a release date for PS4 and PS5, or, at the very least, a launch window.
In the replies, there is also hope that there will be cross save from day one, and that PlayStation will be optimizing the game much like gacha competitor, Genshin Impact.
Whether a release date or launch window is announced or not, we should be seeing PlayStation gameplay. Hopefully a launch date is announced, and hopefully it will be coming to consoles very soon.
