Another huge announcement has surfaced as part of BlizzCon 2023 after World of Warcraft Executive Producer Holly Longdale announced that Cataclysm Classic will be arriving in the first half of 2024. The event’s WoW segment also showcased a short teaser for the upcoming release, which displayed plenty of the memorable scenes from the expansion when it was first launched in 2010. You can check out the exciting sequences for yourself in the trailer below.

Following the exciting announcement of Cataclysm Classic, Holly Longdale went on to reveal additional new goodies that are set to arrive in vanilla WoW in the future. The first introduction is a new chapter called the Season of Discovery, where you will be able to discover exciting, class-altering abilities that will allow you to become an all-in-one hero, like a tanky Warlock or a Mage healer.

The season will be launching with an initial level cap of level 25. Once you meet it, you can then explore a brand-new level 25 endgame filled with additional content, such as a “new 10-player Blackfathom Deeps raid,” which contains new and reimagined bosses, mechanics, and rewards. The developers will then raise the level cap after a couple of months and will be introducing more endgame activities alongside it.

If you were lucky enough to attend BlizzCon 2023, then you may have already experienced the new Blackfathom Deeps raid during the event. But if you were one of the many players who were only able to watch the celebration online, there’s no need to worry. Season of Discovery is set to launch on November 30, so you won’t need to wait too long now before you can play through it yourself.

While you wait for the Season of Discovery and Cataclysm Classic to arrive, check out the new World of Warcraft Worldsoul saga storyline that was announced during BlizzCon 2023 as well.
