These Wild Hearts performance issues have found themselves central to recent controversies surrounding the game. If you’re wondering how to fix them, we’ve tried to cover that here, however we can’t guarantee any official fixes until the developers release the highly anticipated Wild Hearts performance patch that looks to solve hilarious frame-rate issues fixable only by adjusting random audio sliders.

The recent Wild Hearts performance issues have made a rocky start to what could be a Monster Hunter-killer. After being review bombed for poor performance, it seems that the game’s reputation has been slightly tarnished.

The developers, Omega Force (a subsidiary of Koei Tecmo), had recently released a statement via Reddit: “Omega Force are working continuously to improve performance and optimise the game for a wide variety of hardware specs across future updates. We have a patch coming next week that addresses a CPU bottleneck problem the team discovered; this should improve performance across mid-high end CPUs. The team are also actively working on DLSS and FSR support which will arrive in a future patch.”

In light of this, it seems that if you’re trying to enjoy Wild Hearts without suffering from those annoying performance issues, you’re going to have to fix it yourself.

How to fix Wild Hearts performance issues?

The Wild Hearts developers have recently released their initial performance patch for the game, and it has been pushed out on all platforms. If you’re still encountering issues with the game, you can try the following.

  • Install latest graphics drivers from Nvidia, AMD, or Intel
  • Turn off ray-tracing
  • Disable GPU overclocking
  • Reduce texture, shader, and rendering quality

However, while those fixes are general fixes that might help out with preventing the game from crashing, the community has recently found a much more reliable fix for performance issues, which has resulted in the developers actually praising the players who found this fix.

The fix involves switching around some audio settings which has resulted in much smoother gameplay for all those who have tried it.

The fix involves the following steps:

  • Head to Audio Settings
  • Change default from Stereo to 7.1 / 5.1

Alternatively, you might be able to plug in headphones to automatically switch the audio settings from Stereo.

It’s not quite clear why this issue is only sorted out through switching around some audio settings, but it seems as though the Wild Hearts community are just glad that something is working for once.

We’re going to be keeping an eye out for the latest updates on the Wild Hearts crashing issues, though we anticipate they should be sorted fairly shortly.
