The Wild Hearts community has recently been wrestling with a frustrating launch, with various crashes and FPS issues preventing players from enjoying the game. However, some eagle-eyed fans have spotted a strange solution to the recent frame-rate problems.

Posted by Ryan Johnson, the thread reveals how one lucky gamer solved the Wild Hearts community’s performance problems: “I went to the audio settings and changed Stereo (which is on by default) to 7.1 / 5.1 and it’s smooth.” It seems as though this little trick is responsible for fixing the current frame-rate issue, and the original poster goes on to state “the game is playable now.”

The community then responded with over forty replies confirming that this tiny setting change is helping their frame-rates recover, with one commenter saying “Tell EA to send u a phat check.”

It seems as though changing your audio settings from Stereo to 7.1 / 5.1 is the solution to all of Wild Hearts recent issues, however it’s certainly strange that the whole fiasco can be solved with a single adjustment to audio settings. Usually, as we’ve seen with recent releases such as Hogwarts Legacy, it’s rendering procedures such as ray-tracing responsible for these issues. Though, for Wild Hearts players, it’s their bluetooth headphones.

It’s gone far enough that the developers themselves released the following statement on Reddit: “Omega Force are working continuously to improve performance and optimise the game for a wide variety of hardware specs across future updates. We have a patch coming next week that addresses a CPU bottleneck problem the team discovered; this should improve performance across mid-high end CPUs. The team are also actively working on DLSS and FSR support which will arrive in a future patch.”

The game is slated as “EA Originals’ answer to Monster Hunter,” however anyone familiar with EA know that their games often launch filled with bugs. Wild Hearts seems to be no exception, and the community is justly angered. Players are currently experiencing severe performance issues regarding frame-rate drops and jittery performance, although the aforementioned silly audio fix should sort all of these issues.

Based on how Omega Force are handling the release of Wild Hearts, an update is soon to come that will hopefully sort out the communities current concerns.
