No piece of equipment has been more contentious in Warzone than the extremely controversial Riot Shield. The protective shell, which gives players the ability to protect their front and back sides, has been causing a myriad of community disputes regarding its overpowered nature.

Previously, the battle royale’s player base had to endure the ever-present sight of the Riot Shield on the Shipment map. Now, it looks like it has made its way over to the Caldera map where a number of users are grouping up and exploiting its capabilities.

A clip posted by u/DefunctHunk on Reddit shows their valiant solo effort in attempting to fend off three Riot Shield teamers. The action packed scene begins with the user simply making their way through the map during the final stages of the game.

They then encounter an enemy running into the circle, which the player proceeds to engage. Unfortunately, this particular combatant brings out the dreaded Riot Shield and any attempt at downing them immediately becomes stymied.

Things start to take an even worse turn for the solo Operator as two more Riot Shielders appear out of nowhere to help their comrade. Although the lone player was almost able to single-handedly defeat this “turtle” trio, their efforts weren’t enough in the end as they were eventually overwhelmed.

A large number of responses under the thread congratulated the user on his near-successful attempt at taking down the teamers. On the other hand, most of the other comments have stated that they have similarly been running into plenty of Riot Shield players recently.

One user had this to say about their experience: “Anyone else been running into lots of Riot Shielders? Every time I play solos, I always run into one, hell I ran into three of them in one match.”

These sort of experiences from the player base has led to them asking the developers to nerf this piece of protective gear. The lack of official response so far has been discouraging but, hopefully, Raven Software and Infinity Ward find a way to balance it soon for the good of the community.
