New Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 update “planned for this week” on console and PC

Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 is everything and more fans could have wanted, and now it is out for everyone following less than a week of early access. It is an absolute spectacle, and it fully delivers on the thrill of obliterating hundreds of enemies on screen. There are some issues with performance as a consequence of the game’s scope, but the developer has announced a new Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 update is “planned for this week” on both console and PC.

In our review, we praised the game for its gorgeous aesthetics along with its addictive gameplay and fun online multiplayer co-op. The developer has shared the full roadmap for 2024/25, and there is a lot of new content planned for the near future. Season 2 is planned to arrive before the end of the year, and it will introduce a new enemy and PvE mode, meanwhile, Season 4 is the most anticipated as it will bring the arrival of horde mode.

While new content for the future is appreciated, right now the developers are focused on improving the performance of Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 through updates.

Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 update is coming

On the Space Marine 2 Discord, the developer has announced another update is “planned for this week” on console and PC. This means the patch should arrive before September 13th.

The only thing mentioned about the hotfix is that it will provide “some stability improvement”. This is another hotfix following on from the update released on September 9th.

Sever maintenance for today’s update occurred at 9AM BST, and it resulted in the game going offline. It’s assumed servers will go offline once more for the update expected later this week, so hopefully a date will be announced soon.

Today’s patch was simply aimed at “solving connectivity issues,” which hopefully translates to players being able to matchmake and join up with friends/other players much quicker and smoother.
