Space Marine 2 is a game that is well marketed for its coop and multiplayer gameplay. However, when you first get in the game, you are thrown immediately into a mission with no signs of your friends. So, this guide will teach you how to play coop in Space Marine 2 and get to slaying Nids with your brothers.

How to invite or join friends in coop lobbies

To invite friends to coop lobbies in Space Marine 2, you must do the following:

1. Complete the tutorial level
2. Explore the ship
3. Speak to the Ultramarine captain
4. Access the lobby menu and invite friends
5. Give your friends your lobby code

Firstly, players must complete the tutorial missing in the campaign to unlock the coop feature. You start off as a Deathwatch Titus, and go through the level learning the basics of the game. At the end of the level, you will return to the ship, and from there, get a look at the menus.

Once you approach the quest giver, you will unlock the campaign menu, multiplayer menu, and operations menus. You will also unlock coop mode.  Look to the top right of the UI, and you will see a lobby button. It should be the Y key on the keyboard, the Y button on your Xbox controller or the triangle on your Dualshock controller. From there, you can check a button for recent players, alongside invite players using the enter key on PC or the A/X button on controllers when you move onto the invite friends button. You can also select the plus icons on the party list to directly invite from your platform’s friends list.

When you press the invite players button (not the plus icons), you will get a lobby code. You can either tell your friends the lobby code, or input your friend’s lobby code and join their session instead on the same menu.

Once your friends are in, you will see them take over your AI companions in your squad. Once the crew is together, you can then play a campaign mission, or change game mode and go into PvP or the PvE operations.
