The new Valorant Episode 8 Act 3 is here, the final season before Episode 9. Despite Episode 8 winding down, Riot Games is still hard at work bringing new content to the game, with the next map recently being leaked.

Riot Games has recently released the Valorant 8.08 patch notes to kick off the start of Episode 8 Act 3 and, despite it being the start of the new season, it has left many players disappointed due to lack of map rotation. Valorant has had the same map pool since they last got rotated in January 2024, so they are long overdue a change.

Although the current map pool includes favorites such as Acsent and Bind, there are also multiple maps that are largely disliked by the community including Breeze, Icebox, and Sunset, and after over three months players are ready to see the back of them.

The new 8.08 patch notes haven’t been a hit with players, especially when it comes to the maps, with U/Packy17 saying “They… they really didn’t rotate any of the maps? Why?”

U/RedSquaree also took to the comments saying “Worst map pool since launch.” U/DissimulationIsGood would be rolling in money with their luck when it comes to maps, with them claiming that “On god. If I had a dollar for every time I got ascent or breeze, i’d have enough money to buy the entire Kuronami bundle.” While U/Thekmanpwndwn expressed their disapproval and decision to take this opportunity to play other games saying “No map rotation, so I think I’ll take this season off to catch up on my backlog. I can’t stand any more icebox or breeze at this point.”

Although this new update has been a disappointment with some fans, it means we are close to the start of Episode 9 which will no doubt bring exciting changes and new content to the game.
