The first Twisted Metal TV show teaser trailer has been released by Peacock and it finally gives fans a quick look at the psychotic ice-cream truck driving clown, Sweet Tooth. But even though the antagonistic character – who is voiced by Will Arnett and played physically by Samoa Joe – only made a brief cameo towards the end of the clip, the teaser was still enough to send viewers into a frenzy as the iconic figure has often been known as the face of the video game series.

The official teaser similarly showed Anthony Mackie in action as John Doe, the protagonist of the series, as he ventured through the apocalyptic wasteland that the adaptation is set in. As he drove down a road beset by gunfire, the song Steal My Sunshine by Canadian alternative rock duo Len played in the background, which indicates that the soundtrack will be heavily emphasized throughout the show.

A few fans commenting under the official teaser couldn’t help but reminisce about the video game’s music selection as they’re hoping that Rob Zombie will once again make his voice heard throughout the series. Some songs that fans want to hear in the show include Dragula and Superbeast, which were included in the Twisted Metal 4 and Twisted Metal 3 soundtracks respectively.

With shooting for the first season having wrapped in 2022, the Twisted Metal TV show release date may now be closer than ever. Unfortunately, both the showrunners and the streaming service are yet to actually provide a specific launch window so you will need to remain patient for the time being. Based on early fan reactions, however, it’s safe to say that this is one of the most highly anticipated shows of the year so be sure to tune in once it does start airing on Peacock.
