Arrowhead is already working on the next Helldivers 2 crossover after the awesome, but poorly released, Killzone event. While there are internal restrictions over what crossovers can do in Arrowhead’s game, players have called for a Titanfall collaboration sometime in the future.
With a Halo crossover seemingly off the table until Helldivers 2 comes to Xbox (which will probably never happen), Titanfall is a perfect fit for the frantic sci-fi multiplayer game. But what does Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment think of the idea?
Titanfall lead responds to Helldivers 2 crossover
In a simple and concise post on Twitter, head of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella responded to fan requests for a Titanfall x Helldivers 2 crossover two love heart emojis, praising the idea.
One fan responded to the tweet asking, “you still remember Titanfall?” The Respawn lead replied: “with all my heart.”
In the days since Zampella’s acknowledgment of the crossover idea, fans have already cooked up some truly amazing ideas for what Respawn could do.
On the Helldivers 2 subreddit, one fan created an entire Warbond based around the crossover idea. Shared here, the fan pitched potential armour, weapons and stratagems to add to the game based on the awesome mech-based shooter.
In the weapons section, they pitched the return of Titanfall’s always satisfying Smart Pistol, a handgun that auto targets enemies, as well as the Kramer and the L-Star.
As for stratagems, the fan pitched two Exosuits based on the mech game as well as a booster that allows them to launch directly into a map with a shield bubble, just like in Respawn’s game.
“Bruh the smart pistol with the ballistic shield would be absolutely insane,” one fan responded. “I need this warbond to be real,” said another.
As for now, there’s no sign that Titanfall and Helldivers 2 will be crossing over. However, with EA and Respawn doing diddly squat with the IP, a crossover would be amazing.
