Following the release of the Illuminate, Arrowhead Game Studios has released its first crossover, bringing the world of PlayStation’s Killzone to the popular multiplayer game. With the first half of the Killzone crossover now available, many players have shared the disdain at the pricing structure of the new content.

Following an announcement that the studio is now willing to take “more risks”, Arrowhead has admitted it has “missed the mark” with the crossover and may adjust pricing in the future.

Helldivers 2 devs miss the mark

In a statement to fans on Discord, Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani admitted that the team has failed to hit the sweet spot of value for players. With the Helldivers 2 Killzone crossover costing extraordinary amounts of Super Credits, casual fans who haven’t spent the past year grinding are upset.

“I’ve mentioned else but our aim is to make stuff that leaves players satisfied (value/money) and it sells well,” the Arrowhead CEO explained. “We missed the mark on the first part for this one,” he concluded.

As the first crossover for Helldivers 2, although more are definitely in the works, Arrowhead has yet to figure out the correct balance for pricing its licensed content. However, with more crossovers on the way, hopefully new IP cameos will be much less expensive.

For more Helldivers coverage, read about some of the huge leaks of upcoming content in the multiplayer game. For example, Arrowhead is working on a new Wildlife faction that could add a bunch of life to the game’s more barren worlds as well as a new weapon attachment system that’s been found in the game files.

Alongside the new leaks, Arrowhead has also reaffirmed a new major order on the way that will massively improve vehicles, or read about the soaring player counts due the massive Illuminate update.
