Publisher Deep Silver and developer Volition have declared that their upcoming reboot of Saints Row has officially gone gold.
That means the game is content complete and locked in for its intended release date of August 23. That does mean we’re still a month out from launch, but hopefully that’ll give the team chance to squash any lingering bugs and make sure that any day one patch is as complete as it can be with no more delays. When it was first announced around this time last year, the game was pencilled in for February. However, it was delayed in November to allow the team “more time to do our vision justice”.
In case you’ve not been keeping up, the Saints Row reboot follows an entirely new cast in a new location. Gone is the bustling New-York based city of Steelport and in is the city of Santo Ileso. It’s got more of a Southwestern feel, based on Texas and New Orleans. So expect plenty of desert playground amongst the city lights as you create mayhem as The Boss.
Speaking of, players have spent the last few weeks creating their perfect persona in the game’s Boss Factory demo. That was released back in June, and players will be able to transfer their characters into the full game when it launches on August 23. The Saints Row reboot, in all its gone-gold glory, will be on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia and PC and if you’ve not yet – check out our hands on preview here.
