Volition and Deep Silver have revealed their upcoming Saints Row reboot, with an all-new entry in the madcap crime series coming as soon as February 2022.

Announced during last night’s Gamescom Opening Night Live broadcast, the new Saints Row will take place in a new city called Santo Ileso. There’s an entirely new cast of characters made up of Neenah, Kevin, Eli and yourself as the Boss. Together you’ll establish an all new Saints and take on three factions—Los Panteros, The Idols and Marshall Defense Technologies—in your rise to the top.

We’re promised the “biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created” with nine unique districts surrounded by the Southwestern desert. You’ll get into epic gunfights and high speed chases in a number of vehicles. Of course there’s cars and bikes, but also planes, VTOLs, hoverboards and even a wingsuit are mentioned in the reveal. You’ll also be able to play the entire campaign with a friend in “seamless” drop-in, drop out co-op.

Of course making your Boss unique is a big deal once more. To help with that, we’re told that the game will offer the most advanced customisation tools in the series yet. Volition also claim we’ll get “incredible options” for weapon and vehicle customisation too, so we’re expecting good things.

You can check out the game’s debut trailer for yourself below. The Saints Row reboot will land on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on February 25, 2022. It’ll also be available on PC via the Epic Game Store.
