The First Descendant dev confirms incoming fix for update 1.2.18 following complaints from players

The First Descendant players have a lot to look forward to with the scheduled release of Season 3 in June. However, before Season 3 arrives, there will be the release of update 1.2.18. This is set to be a big update for TFD as it will introduce lots of new content, and Nexon has also just now confirmed a fix planned for The First Descendant update 1.2.18 following complaints from fans on PlayStation.

Nexon confirms fix for The First Descendant update 1.2.18

Following the release of update 1.2.17, Nexon has just confirmed on Discord that they have identified an issue with “no sound during gameplay” on PS5. According to the known issues post, “An issue has been identified on the PS platform where the sound may stop playing after a certain period during gameplay,” and it will be “addressed in the upcoming 1.2.18 patch update,” which should land on May 22nd.

This issue was complained about by many users on X in response to the update 1.2.17 patch notes. One of many comments from PS5 users implored Nexon to “please fix the lack of voices in the game [as] it’s been several days,” and the good news is that a fix is on the way, although it will take a week to arrive.

Fortunately, there’s much else to anticipate for update 1.2.18 aside from just this PS5 bug fix. In the update 1.2.17 patch notes, it’s mentioned that patch 1.2.18 will introduce “the Mutant Cell system… which will further enhance skill effectiveness”.

As part of the recent AMA on Discord, Nexon also confirmed exciting new features coming on May 22nd. These include the “new Abyss VIB, Icemaden,” as well as the new Party Finder system that will “support those who wish to enjoy party play by making it easier to find companions through detailed settings”.

There should also be the introduction of a “new Albion teleport location near ETA-0 in addition to the existing one,” and it’s expected that update 1.2.18 is when “jiggle physics” will finally be added.
