The First Descendant dev confirms new skins, buffs and more for intense new update

The First Descendant Season 2 Episode 2 is slated to arrive mid-March, and this will see the debut of newcomer, Serena. There’s a lot of other exciting additions planned, but right now we are set to receive a new update to help bridge the gap between now and S2E2’s arrival. For this new update, Nexon has confirmed new The First Descendant skins along with a buff and more improvements.

Nexon confirms new The First Descendant skins and buff for next update

The next update for The First Descendant is patch 1.2.9, and it is slated to arrive on February 27th. One of the most exciting aspects for this update is the introduction of new skins.

We don’t know all the skins that will arrive and how they will look on each of the characters, but, in the most recent developer livestream, Nexon confirmed the arrival of secret agent skins. The developer didn’t show any in-game screenshots of the skins, but Nexon at least shared some concept art to give players an idea of how the outfits will look.

In addition to these new skins, The First Descendant director, Jooms, answered some more Discord questions on February 24th. In doing so, the director confirmed a buff for the Hungry Sonic external component. While the component currently only affects one party member, the buff will result in the component’s healing effect applying to all allies within the AoE perimeter.

On Discord, Jooms also briefly discussed the new Party Finder System for the TFD Season 2 Episode 2 update set for March 13th. This new system will “help players match with others who share similar objectives more efficiently”.

Lastly, on X, Nexon has also revealed that update 1.2.9 will “Increase the number of Augmentation Cores obtainable upon defeating Commanders on 21–30 of Void Erosion Purge”. There will also be a slew of bug fixes that are yet to be revealed.
