The First Descendant Serena – Everything we know about Nexon’s Overwatch Mercy clone

The First Descendant Season 2 Episode 2 is only a month away. So far, Season 2 has been excellent with the recent arrivals of Ines Raya plus the very much beloved hot-spring skins. While Nexon’s second chapter has been great so far, Episode 2 could be even better thanks to the newest confirmed supermodel that visually resembles Mercy from Overwatch. The First Descendant Serena release date window

The release date window for Serena in The First Descendant is March. She will be part of Season 2 Episode 2, which should launch on March 13th/14th as that’s when Nexon’s newest batch of free rewards expire, but the date hasn’t been confirmed by Nexon, and delays can occur.

In addition to Serena, Nexon has confirmed the newest Ultimate. The new Ultimate for Season 2 Episode 2 is Blair, and there will be an exclusive story for him.

The First Descendant Serena skills

Nexon will confirm the skills for Serena in the next First Descendant developer livestream preview. While we will have to wait for her moveset to be outlined, Nexon has shared some very exciting details.

When first discussing the character, the Korean developer revealed that “she is different from the current generation of Descendants [as] she’s actually one of the ancestors”. The developer also teased that she “has the traditional arc skills, plus the modernised arc skills”.

Now, in the most recent developer livestream, Nexon reaffirmed that she possesses the element of fire, making her the first female fire Descendant. The developer also joked that she is not an “old granny,” and is instead quite “pretty”.

They also revealed that she has mechanical wings on her back, and she will be able to use her skills while flying. There will also be some exciting and unique skins for her when she arrives, but these have not been revealed yet.

Following the character being unmasked, lots of fans agree that she looks very similar to Mercy from Overwatch. This is because of the angelic blonde hair combined with the white and black outfit, plus the wings on the back.

The First Descendant has been accused of copying Overwatch in the past with Luna, so this is by no means the first correlation between the two properties. Although the visual similarities are hard to deny, there will be a lot more to the character to make her stand out.

Season 2 Episode 2 additions

Besides the release of Serena, Season 2 Episode 2 will also see the addition of a labrador as the next Fellow. During the stream, Nexon confirmed that the labrador will be different to the German shepherd by racking up extra ammo instead of auto-dispensing items.

Season 2 Episode 2 will also see the addition of photo mode, and Nexon still have “jiggle physics” planned for May. Below is Nexon’s full roadmap for March to May:
