The First Descendant has just received a new update. In addition to providing some big changes to Invasion mode along with buffs, nerfs, fixes, and quality-of-life improvements, the update has also brought some new skins to the in-game store. Unfortunately, The First Descendant community appear to agree that the new skins are underwhelming, especially in comparison to the amazing cosmetics we’ve had so far.
You can check out the update 1.1.3 patch notes to see all of the changes implemented by Nexon. In other news, it’s been announced that the PS5 Pro version of TFD is getting enhanced ray tracing, meanwhile, we are still on track to see Ultimate Freyna and a new boss fight on October 10th.
We cannot wait for Ultimate Freyna, and we are also eagerly anticipating fetching skins to celebrate Halloween. These Halloween skins will drop on October 10th as announced by Nexon in their newest dev notice. While the All Hallows’ Eve cosmetics haven’t been revealed yet, right now we have some new skins that, for the first time, are quite disappointing.

You can see the skins in the embedded Reddit post below:
The Valby Glowing Frog was leaked, and it was presumed that the Gley vampire skin would be part of the Halloween cosmetics instead. However, it’s available now, and the Gley vampire skin is arguably the best of the lot as it’s very stylish. It’s bizarre that it’s referred to as a vampire skin when it’s more devilish with the blood red and tiny horns, but it looks great nonetheless.
Unfortunately, all of the other skins are quite bland. Fans have shared the same complaint about Ultimate Freyna before she has even debuted, and the complaint is again relevant with these new Ultimate skins as a lot of them come with ugly helmets.
The designs just appear pretty generic and bog-standard. Reacting to the new skins on Reddit, there are many comments saying “Nexon did not cook with these skins” and “My wallet is safe… “. An even more damning comment says, “I could have pumped out better skins with AI in minutes, it doesn’t make sense”.
In addition to disappointment with the overall appearance, fans are frustrated that Sharen is being ignored again. Hailey has also quickly become a fan-favorite, and fans are desiring skins for her the most. Hopefully there will be a good Hailey skin part of the Halloween festivity.
