The First Descendant director shares a “little spoiler” and more for Season 2 Episode 2

The First Descendant Season 2 Episode 2 is scheduled to arrive on March 13th, and it will see the introduction of new playable character, Serena. Nexon are also planning to fix a recurring issue with skins, including for the new secret agent outfits. With the big update just a few weeks away, The First Descendant director has shared more Season 2 Episode 2 details including a “little spoiler”.

On February 26th, The First Descendant director, Jooms, again provided another Discord AMA follow-up to answer unresolved questions.

In answering questions, Jooms provided a “little spoiler”. More details wll be provided during the upcoming developer livestream, but Jooms said, “Season 2 Episode 2 will introduce a variety of new modules that allow single-shot attacks to hit multiple shots”.

Alongside the above, Jooms also revealed a “fire rate cap” is set to arrive as part of the S2E2 update. This is to fix the “ghost bullet issue”. Per Jooms, “damage loss occurring at extremely high fire rate settings was an intended countermeasure against hacks,” and a fire rate cap will be introduced because Nexon “cannot completely remove this countermeasure”.

According to the director, “this cap will only affect extremely high fire rate setups,” and more details will be provided in the upcoming developer livestream. In addition, Nexon are planning to “improve the anti-cheat system so that players below this cap will not experience any damage loss due to fire rate”.

Jooms also reaffirmed Season 2 Episode 2’s main narrative will focus on Gley. Lastly, the director also discussed new enemies beyond S2E2 into Season 3.

The director said Nexon “plan to continuously introduce new enemies, including entire new factions,” and the belief is that these enemies “should always feature fresh attack patterns”. Nexon are also planning new dungeons that will focus “less on dungeon mechanics and more on enhancing combat experiences through new monsters and enemy encounters”.

For Season 2 Episode 2, players “will encounter variant Colossi in the Abyssal Depths,” and something new will be delivered for Season 3.
