The First Descendant Season 1 is officially underway, and this means everyone can now grind to unlock new playable character, Hailey Scott. She is a cold and sniper-themed new addition to the game’s already stunning roster, and she’s quickly become a massive fan-favorite amongst the TFD community. There is a grind to pull her without paying, and The First Descendant fans have shared an important PSA for unlocking Hailey.

In the update 1.1.0b hotfix patch notes, Nexon did improve the farming rate for Hailey in an apology to fans. This was another example of Nexon listening to the community and changing course based on player feedback. While Hailey came out at the beginning of Season 1, so too did a free bundle that includes Ultimate weapon skins along with cosmetics and more.

Although improved in the most recent hotfix, there is still a grind to unlock Nexon’s sniper wolf without paying a penny. If you’re all for the grind, The First Descendant community has shared an important PSA so you do not miss out on her materials accidentally.

The First Descendant Hailey PSA

On The First Descendant subreddit, OP FriedRiceRiceBaby has shared an important PSA regarding Hailey. The Reddit post says, “PSA: Hailey’s parts are an actual drop that you need to pick up,” and there is a screenshot demonstrating the OP’s public service announcement.

In the comments, the OP elaborated “I don’t usually pay attention to loot since I don’t have a need for most of it. I thought completing the mission would give you the parts like it does with amorphous patterns and Freyna/Sharen/Blair pieces. Was shocked when my friend pointed it out. Now I’m beating myself up for not noticing it sooner, I’ve probably left behind a ton of parts behind rushing into the next run”.

This is crucial to know as, judging by many of the replies, a lot of people simply ignore loot. This goes against the nature of a looter-shooter in name, but, as pointed out in the replies, “90% of the loot is useless”. There are also occasions where you’re at the mercy of your teammates abandoning all the loot and quickly running to the next stage of the level.

Some of the surprised replies say, “Wait a second, are you serious? Huh, maybe the consumables drop rate modifier really does work, in that case…,” and, “F**k me I wonder how many times I’ve just insta requeued. I typically like jumping up into the loot when it shoots out of the boss… but I’ve definitely skipped doing that when I’m in super grind mode for the 50th run in a row”.

In addition to the OP’s PSA, one of the top replies also shares, “Tracked items make an audible chime when they drop”. This is simply more helpful information not everyone may be aware of, especially judging by the replies again.

Of course, if you don’t want to grind for Hailey at all, you can simply buy her services for 900 caliber. You can get 1,060 caliber for £15.99 (via PSN store).
