The First Descendant dev announces “first collaboration” release window as part of exciting plans

The First Descendant is currently performing “below expectations” for Nexon, but that does not mean the game is going to be abandoned. Right now, the developers have actually expanded in size and are getting external help from other studios, and they have a lot of exciting plans for the future. These plans include the announced release window for The First Descendant’s “first collaboration” with another IP.

The First Descendant devs have just finished another AMA session with players on Discord. This was conducted by producer Lee and director Jooms.

During the AMA, a user asked producer Lee if Nexon have any plans for skin collaborations. Lee responded, “The first collaboration is planned for Season 3, which will be updated in the summer”.

In addition to confirming the “first collaboration” for summer and Season 3, Lee also stated that Nexon are “preparing to continue collaborations regularly!”. Unfortunately, Nexon won’t reveal what IP the crossover is with until summer, but Lee told players to let Nexon know if “there’s a collaboration you’d like to see”.

While we don’t know what the crossover will be, the most obvious popular request from fans are Stellar Blade and Nier Automata. It could also just be a collaboration with another IP part of Nexon’s library such as Dungeon & Fighter, Blue Archive, or something else that would make sense in regard to skins.

The summer months are June, July, and August. It’s possible the collaboration could happen at the beginning of Season 3, or it’s possible it could happen mid-season or at any random interval.

In addition to a collaboration, Lee also teased “various plans for summer skins”. Again, no elaboration on what these skins will be, but Nexon has previously stated there will be more swimsuits.
