Embark just recently released The Finals update 5.8.0 patch notes. In addition, they released some new free rewards that players can grab right now. In the footsteps of these two occasions celebrating Valentine’s Day, Embark has just announced an “explosive twist” to Arenas in The Finals, along with a couple more fixes.

Embark announces “explosive twist” to Arenas in The Finals

Following update 5.8.0, Embark has revealed that they are further celebrating Valentine’s Day with the World Tour event, Love Hurts. This is basically The Finals celebrating the holiday of love via bombs, much like the explosive pie in that one SpongeBob episode.

Per the developer’s announcement on Discord, eliminated players “will leave behind a heart-shaped bomb”. This bomb can either be left alone, or players can take advantage by scooping it up and quickly tossing it in the direction of enemies before it detonates.

Below are the Arenas celebrating Valentine’s Day through explosions:

  • Kyoto
  • Seoul
  • Skyway Stadium
  • Las Vegas

In addition to the above twist for Arenas, Embark has announced additional fixes for The Finals:

  • Fixed a bug where players would sometimes end up in the wrong server region 🔸
  • Removed the ‘Eliminate 5 opponents from 30 meters or more using gadgets’ contract, as it is not working

There’s no mention of how long the Valentine’s World Tour update will last, so make sure to enjoy it as soon and as frequently as possible before it expires. In addition, make sure you get the new Valentine’s Day free rewards available through Twitch Drops before they expire, too.

Update 5.8.0 was arguably the biggest of Season 5 yet as it included a lot of buffs, nerfs, and other significant balance changes. Embark certainly delivered on their promise of changing a “whole bunch of weapons,” but right now there’s no hints as to what fans can expect for 5.9.0.
