The Finals dev teases next week’s update is “big,” and we might already know what’s coming

The Finals typically receives an update every week. The same was true for yesterday, but it was merely an update to the store adding some new skins. While fans were understandably disappointed, Embark has teased that The Finals update next week is the “big” one. Although shrouded in mystery, it’s possible we already know what is coming.

As mentioned, yesterday’s update was merely new skins for the store, and Embark has explained why there were no fixes, balance changes, and patch notes for 3.7.0. In addition, Embark has shown a new customization option that is on the way, presumably for Season 4, and fans want the developer to revert the massive nerf that has made a previously popular weapon no longer fun to use.

We haven’t been told exactly what is coming next week, but Embark has teased that the update is “big”. Although nothing is official, it’s presumed that The Finals is getting the previously leaked addition to World Tour that was confirmed as real in an earlier patch.

Next week’s The Finals update is “big”

On The Finals Discord, Embark Rob has teased that next week’s update is “big”. Responding to Embark Dusty’s announcement that this week’s update is store only, Rob posted, “Yes next week is the big week right?”.

This is all we have to go off, but it leads us to believe that next week we will finally see the introduction of the Emerald Rank for World Tour. This was previously leaked by the community before it was confirmed as real by Embark in update 3.4.0.

Since its confirmation, Emerald Rank has not gone live. Right now it is still locked behind “The Finals” mode queue, and it will be exclusive to World Tour.

While it seems likely Emerald Rank is coming next week, when it does become available it will not be open to everyone. You will only be able to qualify for the Emerald Rank if you have reached Gold 1.

• Available for contestants who have reached Gold 1
• A competitive experience for the most dedicated Cashout contestants
