Todd 'Meme Harder' Howard has announced The Elder Scrolls Blades, a free mobile game in The Elder Scrolls series that uses touch screen controls as you explore dungeons and outdoor areas. It can be played landscape or portrait. Todd Howard made a masturbation joke while announcing that. I'm serious. That happened.

Blades comes with three modes: The Abyss is an arcade style mode where you see how long you can survive exploring a neverending dungeon; the Arena is a PvP arena mode; the Town is apparently the main mode, where you level up and build and customise your own town after returning from exile to find your home town destroyed.

While Blades has been announced for phones first (and Howard specifically mentioned the iPhone 10), Bethesda is hoping to bring it to as many platforms as possible, including consoles and VR.

This was, however, just an amuse-bouche for a teeny teaser for The Elder Scrolls VI, which is apparently also at thing.
