Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is tailor-made for cooperative shenanigans, but you can still play through the campaign on your Billy No Mates if you want to, the game's director has confirmed.

Mathias Karlson confirmed to AusGamers that it was important for players to have a choice between buddying up with mates or doing their best Jason Derulo impression.*

'You can play through the entire story campaign into endgame and [then the] endgame [content], alone… [But] you can also do the same content [in] two, three, or four player co-op. Or eight-player co-op, two full groups in the raid if you opt into the challenge that we're adding. So it's very important for us that you get to pick.'

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is due out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on March 15, 2019, and sees post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. further ravaged by a civil war between survivors and marauders.

One of the key elements in The Division 2 and a cornerstone for co-op action will be raids, which can be tackled with up to eight players.
