Star Wars Outlaws’ combat gets a lot deeper the further you get into the game. However, it turns out there’s also a Star Wars Outlaws combat roll that the game never tells you about.

While blasting your way through Ubisoft’s recreation of a galaxy far, far away, you may find yourself wishing you could roll away from your problems. It turns out you can, and this is how you do it.

How to combat roll in Star Wars Outlaws

Many fans have complained that Ubisoft’s new Star Wars game feels incomplete in regards to combat. However, with the addition of the Star Wars Outlaws combat roll, you at least have one more option to explore in the midst of conflict.

To perform a combat roll in Star Wars Outlaws, follow these steps:

  • When moving hold a direction on the left stick
  • Rapidly double-tap the crouch button (circle/B) and hold the direction to roll
  • Be aware that you can also roll whilst aiming down sights

On PC, the combat roll feature has its own dedicated button instead of a double tap. This button can also be rebound to better suit your personal playstyle.

Why isn’t this known?

For some reason, Outlaws does a bad job at explaining even basic mechanics to players. Over the course of the game, you’ll accidentally come across multiple mechanics that have not been explained.

This can make for some annoying experiences, even with the game’s latest patch notes starting to fix bugs. Hopefully, by the time Ubisoft’s DLC roadmap starts release, the game will have better tutorials for new players.
