Techland, the developer behind Dying Light, has announced that it is working on an open-world fantasy R.P.G.

The company’s CEO, Paweł Marchewka, said in a statement:

“Our ambition is to introduce a brand new IP that is vastly different from what we have been doing for the past several years. We want to create a fully next-gen experience. A new fantasy epic set in a sprawling open world, fueled by the skills and experience we have gained as a team over the years, infused with new ideas, passion, and creativity.

“While we cannot share more details about this project now, we’re all truly invested in it and looking forward to showing it to gamers when the time is right.”

We don’t know much more about this project. We have the single piece of concept art above. And we know that Techland recruited a number of key people from the likes of Guerrilla Games, Arkane, and CD Projekt Red.

Karolina Stachyra and Arkadiusz Borowik are working the upcoming project. Who were the narrative director and narrative lead, respectively, on both The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

In other recent Techland news, the lead game designer for Dying Light 2 Stay Human spoke about Dying Light 3. Specifically, he mentioned the need to empower the player more from the start.
