Looking for when the next Tears of the Kingdom patch is coming? Then we may have some answers for you. With the game’s release date fast becoming a distant memory, a lot of gamers are looking forward to seeing how Nintendo continue to support and improve The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

We have already seen a number of glitches, and some performance issues with the Nintendo Switch game – namely some stuttering and low frame-rates. The good news is that we have already had the first Day One patch, which addressed the following issues:

  • Horse name inputs now allow for Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional) characters.
    • If the system language is not set to Korean, Chinese (Simplified), or Chinese (Traditional), some inputted characters will not display.
  • Made other, additional fixes to allow for a more pleasing gameplay experience.

So, when will see the next one come along? Here’s everything you need to know.

When is the next Tears of the Kingdom patch?

Right now there is no confirmed date for the next Zelda Tears of the Kingdom patch. However, we will likely see one sooner rather than later. Looking at the update history of Breath of the Wild, the game received a total of six updates shortly after its launch in 2017. It followed the following order:

Taking this as an example, we predict that a majority of the patches will in the first few months of Tears of the Kingdom’s lifespan. You can see above, Breath of the Wild also had a day one patch, but another followed a little under a month later. On that logic, we could well see another patch drop for Tears of the Kingdom in early June. This would then potentially be followed by another wave of patches, spread across the year.
