Tears of the Kingdom is on everyone’s minds right now – and it’s not a surprise as it’s an incredible game. One of the key elements that makes it different to Breath of the Wild is its verticality – Link can now explore the skies above, as well as the lands beneath Hyrule. But just how high can Link go? And how long would it take him to reach the bottom of the game from the highest point? It turns out you can get pretty darn high in TOTK, as YouTuber GameXplain highlights in their great video.
Using a floating platform, Link climbs to thousands of feet in the air, with sky islands resembling tiny dots. While it’s not quite ‘in space’ it’s not far off. When you reach the highest point, the game will give you a message saying ‘you can’t go any further’. You’ll then need to jump from the platform and be prepared to fall for a very long time.
You can expect to reach ground level after around 1.40mins, while it’ll take a further 20 seconds from there to reach the depths – meaning it’ll take a total of around two minutes to go from the highest point to the lowest point of the world. You can watch the full video here. In contrast, GTA V takes a little more than one minute of falling to reach ground level from the highest part of the map.
