With Starfield set to release later this year, players already can’t wait to begin scouting out the perfect location for a brand-new home. While Todd Howard recently confirmed that 90% of the 1000+ planets in Starfield will have no life, it seems that this won’t deter players from looking for that perfect spot of solitude. Alongside this, if you’d like to begin searching for your own home in advance of Starfield’s release, be sure to check out our Starfield planets guide – every planet we know about so far.

Taking to Reddit, user TheRealLukeJames said, “I can’t wait to spend hours scouting multiple planets to find that perfect spot for my player home.” They noted they’d love to find somewhere; “Near a wooded area, Near an ocean/lake, Large moons or planets visible in the sky, Some docile Fauna nearby.” While some of these options may just be spots you could access on Earth, that may no longer be an option as Starfield predicts a grim fate for Earth, after the community spots this detail.

Many players are also excited about the possibility of tracking down an ice-heavy planet, with blizzards all year round so they can create the ultimate cosy experience in their new home. It sounds like a treat for sure. Some players are really taking the whole, “find some peaceful solitude” to the extreme too as user zenayurvedic noted, “If you can see your nearest neighbours from orbit, they are too close.”

Honestly, the whole discussion sounds like one you’d have with your friends or on your own when creating a new Minecraft world. You could spend hours looking for that perfect spot and constructing your perfect home around it. Although as one player pointed out they would probably, spend “hours building to only then decide that actually I didn’t want my base there and go look for a new home.” However, that’s probably the most fun aspect of the entire journey.

While players are hoping for some solitude when establishing their new home others are wondering if some old Fallout New Vegas friends make a return.
