Star Wars Outlaws is steadily gaining traction as one of the year’s most highly anticipated games, but the confusion and ambiguity surrounding its release is making some fans skeptical. Following the revelation of the game’s launch via the Disney Parks blog, a few players are speculating that its alleged release in late 2024 will eventually be pushed back due to Ubisoft’s tendency to delay games, like the many postponements its pirate-themed adventure Skull and Bones has suffered.

Of course, with Ubisoft yet to announce an official Star Wars Outlaws release date, it could still be changed at some point. However, the Disney Parks blog post‘s stated launch window of late 2024 practically already serves as confirmation since the interstellar George Lucas-created franchise remains a high-profile Disney IP. Unfortunately, this hasn’t stopped a few fans from sharing their doubts about its tentative release, as evidenced by many of the comments below a particular Reddit post.

Despite being slated for release towards the end of the year, one Redditor implied that it would eventually be delayed, saying: “So sometime in mid to late 2025 then?” Other commenters shared the previous user’s sentiment, already convinced that a release date pushback for Star Wars Outlaws is brewing. Alas, the skepticism surrounding the game isn’t limited to its release window, as many remain unconvinced with Ubisoft and its studios’ ability to deliver on ambitious, sprawling projects.

Only time will tell whether the interplanetary open-galaxy saga lives up to the hype, as its release date, let alone its launch window, remains far off.
