According to reports, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl could be set to release at the end of the year based on a recent listing on the game’s distributor’s website. The current listing notes that Stalker 2 is set to release on December 1, 2023.

Spotted by Andrew Marmo, previously of Wired Production and VGC, the PLAION/Kock Media store has listed Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s release for December 1, 2023. According to Marmo, “This is most likely accurate as other titles have placeholder dates of December 31st 2023, They have previously leaked dates including Darksiders 2 for Nintendo Switch”.

Alongside this, the game’s description notes, “A unique mix of first-person shooter, horror and immersive sim” as well as, “Immersive survival mechanics for hunger, sleep, bleeding injuries, and the effects of radiation enrich the game experience [and] Dynamic day and night cycles and realistic weather effects make the game a true-to-life experience”.

The next-gen sequel to 2007’s Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl is set to be playable at Gamescom 2023 and is set to release on Xbox Series S/X and PC. It will also be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on launch. The game was initially scheduled to release in April 2022 but has been delayed a few times due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The game’s developer, GSC Game World was initially based in Kyiv, Ukraine but since the invasion has partially relocated to the Czech Republic. In June 2022, GSC Game World shared a development diary noting that many of the studio’s employees had joined Ukraine’s armed forces.
