It’s looking increasingly likely the new Sonic game, potentially named Sonic Frontiers, will be revealed later this week.

Fans have found several clues pointing to this over the past couple of days. The big one is the uncovering of a new domain on the official Sonic the Hedgehog website, as noted by NME. While frontiers.sonicthehedgehog.com currently points to a 403 forbidden page, it does match up with the name Sega trademarked last month.

A further clue was spotted by members of the GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit. They noticed the number of games for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise on Steam had jumped from 34 to 35. This information was spotted on the series’ official curator page, despite there being no new title in the “Upcoming Releases” tab.

The final red string on our conspiracy board comes from, of course, Geoff Keighley himself. The official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account tweeted the host asking for extra invites to the show. Banter followed as it does, resulting in the account getting “hooked up with an extra invite”, winky face and all.

Sonic Frontiers (as we’ll dub it for now) was first revealed back in May as part of the hedgehog’s 30th birthday. We don’t have long to see if we’ll find out more. The Game Awards are set to take place from LA this Thursday night on December 9/10 (it’s after midnight for us in the UK.)
