Deep Silver & Volition have released a new Story Trailer for their upcoming reboot of Saints Row ahead of the game’s release next week.
It may be a new location, new characters and a whole new set of Saints. But there’s the familiar element of founding your own criminal empire at the heart of the game’s story.
Of course, before you do you’ll have to face off against the three factions already calling Santo Ileso home. You’ll have to deal with them, and a lot more besides, as you stake your claim and lead the Saints to infamy and fortune.
Saints Row reboot release date & more
The Saints Row reboot is currently set to land on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia and PC on August 23, 2022.
The reboot was first announced during last year’s Gamescom. Gone are Johnny Gat, Steelport and the alien/virtual reality shenanigans from the last few titles.
In their place is the new desert setting of Santo Ileso, and a whole new cast of characters. Naturally, they include you as a brand new boss, as well as three friends – Neenah, Kevin and Eli.Â
Despite the change up though, we’re still promised all the over the top mayhem the series is known for. There’ll be wingsuits, wrecking ball activities, businesses to run and co-op multiplayer to enjoy.
And of course, customisation will play a big part once more. For the last few months, players have been able to download the game’s Boss Factory, letting them create their perfect protagonist.
They’ll be able to import them into the full version of the Saints Row reboot when the game arrives next week.
