One of the key components to the longevity and huge popularity of Epic Games’ Fortnite is all of the crossovers. It has collaborated with some of the biggest video game franchises of all time such as Tomb Raider and Street Fighter, and it has also collaborated with some of the biggest ever movies like Alien. The series has collaborated with Disney in the past to bring Jack Skellington, but another rumored Fortnite x Disney crossover has the potential to deliver the best-ever skins and outfits.
Fortnite fans have another really exciting year ahead of them. The release date for Chapter 5 Season 2 is creeping upon us, and leaks suggest a hugely popular villain may return with a limited-time mode. In addition, it’s possible that the next live event may come sooner than we expect.
While all of the above is exciting, it’s the crossovers and collaborations that fans truly anticipate the most. Another TMNT collaboration is reportedly in the works to bring childhood nemesis Shredder to the battlefield, but it’s the rumors about a Pirates of the Caribbean crossover that have us most excited.
Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean rumor
There are rumors that a Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean crossover will happen. It’s important to point out this is a rumor rather than a leak. As tweeted by iFireMonkey, this rumor comes courtesy of Xbox Era co-founder @Shpeshal_Nick in the Xbox Era podcast uploaded to YouTube on January 27th. The moment they talk about Jack Sparrow potentially coming to Epic Games’ battle royale is at the start of the rumormill portion of the show.
Again, it is only a rumor rather than a leak. In the podcast, Nick says the problem with Epic is that you never know when they’re going to do their collaborations. He says he received DMs about TMNT with Shredder in December 2023 and only recently have leaks surfaced. He says he’s been told “at one point we’re going to see Jack Sparrow,” but he doesn’t know when and doesn’t expect it anytime soon assuming it happens at all.
It would be amazing to see Jack Sparrow in Fortnite. Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the biggest movie series of all time, and it still has a huge fanbase despite no new installment since 2017. Some may be skeptical because of Johnny Depp’s legal troubles in the past, but Jack Sparrow has recently been in Kingdom Hearts 3 as well as Sea of Thieves. Not only would Jack Sparrow be amazing, but the potential of Davy Jones is very exciting, too.
