Capcom has confirmed that development is underway on DLC for Resident Evil Village.

The news came in an very brief update during the company’s E3 Showcase yesterday evening. We didn’t get much more than that, aside from the DLC will be “by popular demand” and we’ll get more info soon.

We did, however, get an update on free multiplayer component Resident Evil RE: Verse thanks to producer Tsuyoshi Kanda. He confirmed the spin-off, free to owners of Village, will finally release next month after it missed that game’s launch.

We’re left to guess as to what the Resident Evil Village DLC might entail, and where it might fit into the survival horror’s story. Will everyone’s favourite Lady Dimitrescu make an appearance? For the time being, we’ll have to wait and see.

Resident Evil Village has done pretty well commercially, with Capcom announcing it had shipped over 4 million units globally at the end of last month. The game is out now for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC and you can read our review over here.
