Capcom has offered a glimpse at the extra costumes available in Resident Evil 2's Deluxe Edition, and Leon in particular looks to be channeling his inner Rick Grimes in one of his new outfits.

The Deluxe Edition includes five new costumes (three for Claire and two for Leon), plus the Albert model Samurai Edge handgun and a retro soundtrack swap. There's also a reversible cover letting you pick between Leon or Claire striking a dramatic pose in the pouring rain.

Leon's additional costumes include a Neon and Arklay Sheriff outfit, the latter making him look like he's cosplaying The Walking Dead's beardy hero. Claire meanwhile has access to an Elza Walker, Military, and Neon costume; the first outfit being a nod to the female protagonist from the original version of Resi 2, which was scrapped in 1997 at around 60% complete.

The soundtrack swap is a neat feature, allowing you to listen to the spine-tingling tunes of the 1998 version of Resi 2.

Resident Evil 2 is due for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on January 25, 2019. Capcom is releasing a Collector's Edition for the game in the UK featuring a Leon figurine and a bunch of other goodies, including the extra outfits detailed above.

Those of you hoping for a Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake might get their wish: Capcom's said that it will explore the possibility of remaking more of its back catalog.

I recently went hands-on with a portion of Claire's Resi 2 campaign, and came away suitably impressed
