Capcom's remake of Resident Evil 2 only came out today, but already it's managed to become the publisher's second-biggest Steam launch of all time.

According to a user on Resetera, the survival horror revamp notched up a concurrent player count of around 54,000, and peak at 55,164. That's more than Resident Evil 7: Biohazard achieved two years ago, which peaked at around 18,000 (via DualShockers).

So, if Resident Evil 2 remake was second, what made first place? That'd be Monster Hunter World, of course. Surprised? Don't be. Monster Hunter world is currently Capcom's best-selling game ever.

Resident Evil 2 is out now for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, and as I pointed out in my review, is one of the best horror games money can buy. It's also a great entry point for newcomers, too.
