Developer 34BigThings has announced that racing sequel Redout 2 has run into a delay and slipped to June 16.

The team broke the news to fans via their official Twitter account over the weekend. Originally, the WipEout-inspired title was due to arrive this week. However, the team’s taking a few extra weeks of development time on the project. “This will help ensure we’re firing on all cylinders out of the gate and delivering the best gameplay experience for everyone,” they claimed.

Redout 2 promises exhilarating futuristic hovership racing across 36 unique racetracks, which all have mirrored versions for 72 possible tracks. There’s an extensive single player campaign, Arena Races, Time Attacks, Last Man Standing and Boss Racing modes all included. And of course, online multiplayer with up to 12 players racing to prove themselves as the best anti-gravity racer.

You’ll be able to help yourself stand out from the crowd in the looks department too, with a full suite of customisations possible. They include changing your ride’s propulsors, rudders, intercoolers, stabilizers and aesthetic things like spoilers, paints and more. And of course, there’ll be plenty of new items to earn thanks to regularly added seasons and custom content post-launch.

Following the delay then, Redout 2 will now arrive on June 16 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
