Every-man-for-himself shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is receiving a major batch of weapon balance changes, developer PUBG Corp. has announced.

While keeping mum as to what weapons will be getting tweaked, the studio confirmed that they're making the changes so that no single firearm feels 'objectively better' than others. Posting on Steam, it said that the choice of weapon should come down to 'personal preference' as opposed to merely deciding based on what packs the biggest punch.

Outside of the weapons themselves, PUBG Corp. is also going to tinker with various attachments in order to offer players 'a wider array of attachment options so you can choose one that best fits your combat situation (rather than any one 'best' attachment).'

PUBG's level three helmet will also receive 'some changes,' with the item soon going to be made available only through care packages. For those unaware, the helmet protects players from what would usually be a fatal headshot, although PUBG Corp. is making the change as it doesn't want luck alone to determine who bags the item.

The developer has been busy chiselling way on a number of key updates for the PC version of the battle royale title lately, including map select plus the addition of the new Savage map. Finally, Xbox One owners will be able to play on the Miramar map from next month.
