PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is finally going to add the ability to select a map before getting stuck into the action, developer PUBG Corp. has confirmed.
Fans of the every-man-for-himself shooter have been pretty vocal about this feature for some time, particulary as the Miramar map hasn't exactly gone down well with some folk. However, the game's developer has shared concerns that implementing this option may result in issues for player population, despite never actuall ruling it out entirely.
Seems like they've now managed to figure things out though, as PUBG Corp. has confirmed it will add the feature to test servers in the near future. However, it has assured fans that it will be keeping an eye on things in case any matchmaking issues should pop up.
'Ultimately, we created a version of map selection that we think is unlikely to cause issues for matchmaking. That said, we’ll still have to keep a close eye on it, since it could become problematic as new maps continue to be added,' said the studio.
PUBG. Corp recently confirmed that it will be expanding the Savage map with a new cave system alongside extra weapons and vehicles. Meanwhile, Xbox One players will be able to tuck into the Miramar map when it launches next month.
