A new listing at US retailer Best Buy has revealed that the new PS5 Slim variant will debut with a copy of Modern Warfare 3 for $499.99.
The PS5 Slim bundle with Modern Warfare 3 isn’t currently live, marked with a “coming soon” tag, but as the game itself is scheduled to release tomorrow, November 10, this could be the first big launch for the revised hardware in the US. It’s still unknown exactly when this set will become available.
The Modern Warfare 3 PS5 Slim bundle could be among the first that will be available replacing the previous PS5 model which debuted nearly three years ago. As revealed on the PlayStation Blog, the revised compact console includes a 1TB SSD (which is improved from the original model’s 825GB) as well as a removable disc drive which effectively eliminates the need for a disc or digital version of the system.
From the images on display, it looks as though you’ll be able to get the Blu-Ray disc drive included in the bundle, which would normally retail for $79.99 on its own. According to Sid Shuman, Senior Director at SIE Content Communications: “Once inventory of the current PS5 model has sold out, the new PS5 will become the only model available”. That means that time is finite for the standard PS5 once the sleeker variant hits the shelves which could be sooner rather than later.
Interestingly enough, it appears as though the PS5 Slim release would come with a copy of Modern Warfare 3 for no added cost on top. This is factoring in the base price of the PS5 console with a $499.99 MSRP. However, there have been many PS5 deals and bundles throughout 2023, so how aggressive this ends up being cannot be entirely quantified. Still, if you haven’t got a PS5 yet then this bundle could be the ideal way to get your hands on it and the latest in the long running FPS franchise for less.
