Ubisoft’s CEO believes that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One’s price tags are “right”, and that consumers are getting “good deals” on the hardware offered up by the two platform holders.
“For the hardware they’re putting on the market, the price is right,” CEO Yves Guillemot told GamesIndustry.biz. “They are offering machines that will be exceptional, and for those prices, they’re good deals.”
Microsoft has faced criticism from fans for the high asking price of Xbox One. The console will retail at £429.99 when it goes on sale this November, making it one of the most expensive consoles ever released.
It’s also over twice as much as the Xbox 360’s ‘Core’ SKU, which was priced £209.99 at the console’s launch.
PS4, meanwhile, will cost £349.99 – £80 less than Xbox One.
