PS Plus May 2024 games reveal date, confirmed release and 29 games leaving

April has been a great month for PlayStation subscribers. Not only were the Essentials decent, but Extra recently got the addition of the fun and addictive Dave The Diver. While April has been generous to PS Plus subscribers, here’s hoping next month is just as good. Here you will find the PS Plus May 2024 games reveal date along with a confirmed release and 29 massive games officially leaving.

Before next month rolls on, there is still plenty for PlayStation gamers to enjoy. There’s the release date for Stellar Blade, which is another highly-anticipated single-player PS5 exclusive. There’s also the upcoming release date of Sea of Thieves on PS5 which will finally let PlayStation gamers enjoy the thrill of taking to the sea in pursuit of booty while fighting krakens, megalodons, and ghost ships.

While we cannot wait for both Sea of Thieves and Stellar Blade, we’re just as excited for Sony to pull the curtain aside on the upcoming PS Plus May 2024 Essential games.

PS Plus May 2024 games reveal date

The PS Plus May 2024 Essential games should be revealed on May 1st. The next batch of Essential offerings is always revealed one Wednesday before the crop of announced giveaways come out. Sony’s PlayStation Blog post confirms that the next Essential selection will be released on May 7th.

As for Extra and Premium, they should be announced on May 15th. Sony typically announces the Extra and Premium additions on Wednesday one week after the release of the Essentials.

Before the next giveaways arrive, make sure to claim the April Essentials before they expire. Minecraft Legends is an okay dungeon crawler, Immortals of Aveum is fine, but Skul the Hero Slayer is an epic 2D action platformer with gorgeous artwork.

Official PS Plus May 2024 release

Sony has confirmed one of the games joining PS Plus in May 2024 for Extra. The game is called Animal Well, and it will join the PlayStation subscription service on May 9th.

Sony’s description says players will ‘Explore a surreal, forsaken labyrinth and unravel its many secrets’ in a ‘mysterious, non-linear, interconnected world as you solve puzzles in over 250 rooms in whatever order you choose’. The game is a ‘combat-free Metroidvania’ where you will ‘encounter creatures both beautiful and unsettling, and have to decide what is safe and dangerous’.

Seeing as it’s coming out on May 9th, it will be the first Extra/Premium addition next month. All of the other Extra and Premium games should arrive on May 21st.
