With the release date on December 13th, mere days away now, are the upcoming RDNA 3 cards – the RX 7900 XTX & RX 7900 XT – going to be delayed, and will there be stock when they finally release?
The release of the RTX 4090 saw typical graphics card supply issues, whilst the RTX 4080 has seen a surplus of cards in retail as consumers aren’t happy with the MSRP, nor the aftermarket prices that have been seen. The RDNA 3 cards ushered in slight reassurance for the average consumer who is likely more pleased with the sub $1000 pricing of the Radeon cards, but could these reported stock and supply issues derail the much anticipated launch?
Will the RX 7900 XTX & RX 7900 XT GPUs be delayed?
Reported by Igor’s Lab, a source of GPU rumours and speculation, there’s mention that consumers could see a limited supply of the RX 7900 XTX & RX 7900 XT due to various supply chain issues and perhaps more worryingly, drivers and bios support problems.
These reported problems could largely affect those in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, as “only 10,000 reference cards [with] 3,000 for Germany,” suggesting that those looking to get hold of AIB cards could see slight issues getting hold of them.
Alongside these potential supply chain issues, there’s also talks of driver issues hampering the cards.
That being said – it’s highly important to take these rumours with a grain of salt. There’s no guarantee that the RX 7900 XT & RX 7900 XTX GPUs will be delayed, nor will they face substantial stock issues when they launch.
We’ll know for certain after the release of the RDNA 3 GPUs, which falls on December 13th this year.
