The PlayStation console exclusive Hideo Kojima game Death Stranding is now available on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles in a surprise release. While gamers have been upset at Xbox exclusives such as Indiana Jones making their way to PlayStation consoles, this marks a rare occurrence of the opposite happening.
Death Stranding connects to Xbox
Revealed in a surprise announcement on Kojima Productions’ social media account, the PlayStation exclusive has just launched on Microsoft’s gaming console. Furthermore, the game is available at a huge 50% discount for a limited time.
At the time of writing, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut on Xbox costs just $19.99/£17.49 for Xbox gamers, giving early birds a chance to buy into Kojima’s confusing masterpiece before its upcoming sequel.
However, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is still scheduled to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 sometime in 2025. While the game will allow players who haven’t yet played to original to quickly recap the original’s story, now more players will be able to experience the first game’s narrative.
Kojima and Xbox
The arrival of Death Stranding on Xbox is a huge announcement for Xbox gamers, bringing an awesome experience to the Microsoft console. However, this could also be a sign of the ongoing relationship between Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions and Xbox.
With a new Xbox exclusive game in the works by the Metal Gear Solid creator, dubbed OD, there is an ongoing partnership between the two parties. Hopefully, this is a sign that the relationship is going very, very well.
