Palworld devs announce dating sim where you can fall in love or eat your favorite pals

Palworld has been one of the biggest success stories since it came out at the beginning of 2024. It quickly became one of the most played games through Xbox Game Pass, it broke all sorts of player count records on Steam, and it has now joined PS5. Pocketpair has previously announced their intentions for spin-offs, and now they have just announced a Palworld dating sim where you can “develop romantic relationships or eat” your favorite pals.

Pocketpair announces Palworld dating sim

On X, Pocketpair has announced a Palworld dating sim. It’s called Palworld More Than Just Pals, and the game page is on Steam right now with the game actually available to wishlist.

Naturally, everyone believes the game is an April Fools’ joke, but, in response to this, the game’s official X page said, “April joke? What?”.

Per the Steam page, “You, the protagonist, enrol as a transfer student in the prestigious Palagos Private Academy.  You will meet unique friends (pals) and enjoy school life through friendship and romance. It’s up to you whether you stay friends with the pals, develop romantic relationships with them, or even dismember and eat them”.

Pals and characters you will be able to romance include:

• Katress
• Lovander
• Chillet
• Zoe
• Black Makateer
• Chillet Ignis
• Clumsy Quivern
• Nurse Saya
• Bubbly Tarantriss
• Yandere Splatterina

There is no release date for the game, but it is said to be “in-development”. There is still a big possibility this is an elaborate April Fools’ joke, but, at the time of Pocketpair’s announcement on X, it isn’t April 1st, even in Japan.

While a dating sim for Palworld is strange, there are games that have done dating sim spin-offs in the past, such as Hooked On You for Dead By Daylight.
