*UPDATED* Overwatch 2 Season 2 – release date and when you can play Season 2

Overwatch 2 is gearing up for a brand new season of content, with Season 2 of the free-to-play shooter set to arrive imminently.

Despite coming just a little over two months since the game’s launch – Blizzard already have a ton of stuff planned for the game’s next big drop, including a new hero, a new map, the latest battle pass and much more.

Here’s everything we know about when to expect Overwatch 2 Season 2.

Overwatch 2 Season 2 – Release Date & Length

Overwatch 2 Season 2 will arrive on December 6, 2022. That gives you 9 weeks from the start of Season 1 to earn battle pass XP, complete challenges and claim your Season 1 prizes.

As per Blizzard’s original reveal – each season is expected to last roughly the same amount of time, so again, that’s 9 weeks. And that’d put the end of Season 2 at February 7, 2023.

However, this date could change – depending on a number of factors; say if technical issues arise with Season 3 and Blizzard haven’t formally announced an end date for Season 2 yet.

So for now take the end date as a prediction until it’s been officially cemented. We’ll update when it is.

Overwatch 2 Season 2 Roadmap

Blizzard has also released an infographic for Season 2, giving a brief overview of what players can expect in the new season.

Season 2 will include a new Shambali Monastery Map for the Escort game mode, a whopping three Limited Time Events including the new Battle For Olympus and new Tank hero Ramattra.
